New BikeYard/NukeProof 4X Team




Nukeproof and TheBikeYard in Lemington Spa have teamed up to create a new 4X race team for 2011 - TheBikeYard/Nukeproof.

The Bikeyard is owned and managed by pro rider Billy Cheetham. Billy organised a local team for the 2010 season and they did surprisingly well for their first ever years racing, finishing 6th on team rankings of around 55 other teams. The team is selected on club commitment and training.

As well as running the shop, Billy also voluntary runs a local cycle club RLS4X.

The team will be competing in the National 4X Series, RLS4X series, the new Dual Slalom series plus some world cup events.

The team members include:

Billy CheethamBilly has been racing professionally for 9 years in his previous discipline DH mtb. He represented GB as a junior and now owns his own bike shop and runs local cycle club. Out injured 2010 season but back with the 4x Elites in 2011.

Nathan ParsonsNathan started racing National 4x in 2010 where won the senior category, placed 3rd in the National Champs, and raced his first ever World Cup and qualified. Nathan will be riding the elite category in 2011.

Matt Sills:Matt started racing National 4x Series in 2010 and placed top 10 in the senior category. Matt hopes to make top 3 in the 2011 season.

Josh Bremridge: Josh started the 2010 season well but unfortunately broke his collar bone and could not complete the rest of the season. Josh has however been training exceptionally hard on rollers and his road bike ready for the 2011 season.

Cai MahonCai was leading his category for the 2010 season but again due to a crash also broke his collar bone, Cai is one of these riders you see at every track practicing hard every weekend.

The team's other sponsors include Manitou, Hayes, Straitline, Fiveten, Schwalbe, Freestylegames, Royal Racing and Zook.
