In the Pro class the final line up saw Will line up with Duncan Ferris, Scott Beaumont and Will Evans for the last race of the day. With a good gate and being the only rider to jump and clear all four logs on the start hill cleanly, Longden edged out front and powered away down the first straight, never to be challenged, taking the first win of the season after a tough day in the office.
"It was a real measured effort from me today, I saved everything for the final, the mud out there is like glue, if you stopped pedalling your bike came to a halt, not much fun after the first straight but the same for everyone so I made sure I was out front and out of trouble. It's been a long day but great to see lots of riders supporting the NPS, I'm looking forward to the remaining rounds and would highly recommend the series to any rider looking to get involved in a bit of racing on their mountain bike, loads of riding, plenty of peole to hang out with and a great atmosphere. All we need for round two is the sunshine.. and another win would be nice!"
Next event for Will is round one of the UCI World Cup Series in Belgium followed by round two of the NPS 4X series in Cheshire.
